With the fall of the previous Court, the Usurper stepped in to fill the vacuum of power left in their wake. Blackmail, theft, manipulation, bribery, drugs and black market goods all go to serve higher... and darker aims: the pursuit of power. Under the Usurper's reign as the new Matron of Ivies, this shadowy organization remains behind a veil of discretion and secrecy, delving into occult and forbidden magics, and pushing the boundaries of what those with less ambition deem possible.

We are those who walk on the dark side, dance the razor's edge, embrace the shadows, and master them.We are not bound by the limitations of the law or higher authority. We play the game by our own rules, and woe to those who stand in our way.But we are also conscious of the risks we take when dabbling in powers unknown, and the Star shall not bear the brunt of our ambitions. As such, we are they who fight fire with fire, and cull those who would seek wanton destruction. The Court presides...

The Court collects individuals who have an interest in the occult, darker magics, illegal alchemy, arcane artifacts, and forbidden knowledge. Those who seek to grow, may learn as they serve the interests of the whole and contribute to their efforts. It is a home for those who defy the restrictions society has placed upon such pursuits, and who have the ambition and drive to see things through, regardless of the consequences of the law.It is a place of opportunity, those who contribute earning a share of the spoils used to fuel the Court's aims. With time, it may even become a family, where your enemies become our enemies, your woes our woes.

For those still dabbling into the dark arts, the Court provides an extensive education under the watchful eyes of its Houses. These Acolytes are encouraged to push themselves, and are given trials to overcome to prove understanding if not mastery over each of the various disciplines. It is not uncommon for these trials to take place in the Ivy Labyrinth, open for observers. Those who achieve all of their trials, are granted a boon of their choosing and acceptance into the ranks of the Court itself.

For they who do not seek to dabble, retainer services are always sought. Experience with occult magicks and arcane relics is strongly preferred, as the Vanguard is oft the first point of contact in the field.

The Court is divided into a number of Houses that concentrate on a certain discipline. Those who count themselves a part of that House, show a mastery over their chosen school, and endeavor to continue to push the limits. They are sworn to share their knowledge and educate any Acolytes that seek to undertake their Trial, allowing them to choose a House and become full-fledged members of the Court.

- We are a RP community that favors dark and mature themes, as such, any participants must be 18+- As we move in crime circles, it is very possible that characters will be at odds with one another. Keep it IN-CHARACTER. We are here to write stories and have fun.- We engage in both combat and non-combat style DMed events. Encounters that include combat utilize a custom system focused on choices and RP rather than sheer numbers i.e. DnD. Character growth comes as a result of RP as opposed to collected experience points.- We have a FC house on Mateus (The Esoteric) or on Coeurl (The Court). Joining the FC is not required, but available if you would like a room. The Court itself is located in Ishgard and is where their power and influence is based.- Primary times of activity are evenings EST. DM'd events are hosted on weekends.

- If you find that the Court doesn't quite fit for your character, but you are interested in affiliating yourself or your group, don't hesitate to reach out! There are always opportunities to make other connections.

Potions, poisons, augmentations, drugs - everything. Be it crafted with magic or nature, the alchemists of the Court seek to push the boundaries of the known. In the midst of combat, they are versatile and resourceful, debilitating enemies and supporting allies. Some take a more direct approach and rely on a careful balance of augments to turn themselves into potent adversaries.Overall, those of the House of Alchemy tend to be much more than they originally seem...

Mastery over the arcane is a precarious and difficult practice, even for those with a talent for it. Be it the familiar elemental schools or the darker arts, the House of the Arcane seeks to unravel the mysteries of magic, and bend them to their will. Everything from spellweaving, enchanting, and summoning make up the disciplines pursued here.

Where mortality falls short, the House of the Dead stands vigil. It is with a heavy dose of respect that they employ aid from beyond the grave, and it is their sworn duty to eradicate any instance of such that is considered malicious or abusive of the departed. Be it the proper treatment of the fallen, prying knowledge from lingering spirits, or sending them to their rightful place in the beyond, those who align themselves with this House endeavor to become both master and warden of Death.

Voidsent are here, and they are here to stay. This is the House of coexistence, the home of those who have been touched by the Void and found a means of living in a tentative symbiosis with it. But they are also keenly aware of those who do not, who would seek to use it as a tool for their ambitions, to the detriment of all around them and the very Star itself. Those who count themselves among the House of the Void fight fire with fire, and woe to those who threaten that tentative coexistence.

- The previous Court of Ivies was known as the tyrannical hand gripping much of the Ishgardian underground. Those in the Brume would have suffered a great deal, the people there considered disposable for a number of purposes.- The Court takes a keen interest in magical and occult artifacts, particularly those the authorities would rather see behind lock and key.- Whispers can be heard in illicit circles about the Court being a haven and place of purpose for those who practice forbidden magicks or are touched by darker powers.

A place only ever whispered of, the Labyrinth is where the Court of Ivies welcomes their guests and friends for nights of entertainment and exchanges. Drink, other substances, and magic flow in excess here, and the specially-tailored stage promises opportunity for spectacles, be they performative or combative.

The building itself appears as little more than a nondescript cottage nestled away in Ishgard, but the sleek lobby which awaits upon entry is the first clue that this isn't some quaint residence. An attendant loiters behind the counter, offering polite greetings to any who enter, but answering few questions. To the uninformed, this place was a secondary residence of an Ishgardian noble family. For those who utter the pass phrase, "The Court presides," the way is opened to the sanctum below.Upon passing the curtain of ivy vines, the tingle of aether becomes palpable, and sounds of activity become audible. Thrumming music, chatter, and perhaps even the symphony of combat. The space is limited, overlooking a carefully warded area in which magic and other forces are kept contained. This is not a dive bar, nor is it a high-class lounge. It is something in-between, a place in which those of the more occult persuasion can relax and act freely, all under the watchful gaze of the Court.

Thanks for making it this far!- The Labyrinth is a pop-up venue without specific operating hours. As such, it is best to join the Discord to recieve pings for whenever RP is happening in the venue. Due to this, if there are no dedicated bartenders or waitstaff, such is assumed to be covered by NPCs.- IC actions have IC consequences! While not the classiest of lounges, the Matron is not one to tolerate utter chaos and altercations which risk the safety of other patrons and staff. The Labyrinth is the Court's domain, and it is understood that the members present will enforce order and levvy reprimands where appropriate, should altercations not be resolved within the warded space provided.- Gil is RP-only, but we will always accept tips! These funds go to pay our helpers.- Due to mature themes, players and their characters are required to be 18+
